morning walk

my morning walks are good for me in more ways than one.

sure it’s good to exercise and work towards healthy body.

i try and do 4 miles of walking and jogging mixed.

i am not a runner.  i hate every second of it. but i am giving it the old college try.

i take off from the farm and head into town on a path along our soybean field.

i have come to treasure this time alone with nature.

to think, to dream, to pray.

i am constantly looking around me.

the beauty is everywhere.

sometimes i even find a few new locations for my photo shoots.

part of my walk takes me through town.

quiet streets, morning trains and beautiful gardens.

well, maybe not beautiful gardens.  this year has been rough on gardens – big and small.

but i try and appreciate what i see.

to give thanks for it.

even in this terrible drought, there is beauty.

it may be hard to see it through the worry and fear.

but it’s there.

just like the sight of our little farm when i come out of the woods.

it’s there.

our little piece of heaven on earth.

at the end of my walk i feel at ease.

ready to start the day.

optimistic, thankful and happy.

life is good!

What great scenery for your walk. I especially like the little windmill. It sure would look good on my wall! :)
And so glad to hear that you guys got rain! Some towns are finally starting to ask their residents to reduce water use. For the people still watering their lawns….I’m glad I don’t have their water bill!

Oh such a pretty scene for your walk/jog! I am pretty sure I would be completely distracted along the way and it would take me all day to finish! Haha. Love all your photos as usual :)

Heading out to see Jeff this weekend…i could say I’m giving him a break from driving in but truth be told..I’m heading to the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Lancaster PA on Saturday…woohoo!! More scrapbooking stuff to add to my ever growing collection!! It sure will be nice to spend a long weekend with my husband!!

This is a beautiful post… you are good to be up to four miles! Walking, or jogging, or running- good for you. I don’t make it that far, but I understand the same feelings… I just read about walking prayer and meditation, I didn’t know it was a “thing”, but I do it too and feel peaceful by the time I get back home. I hope the drought ends soon for everyone’s sake… keeping you in my prayers this morning my friend.
