Imperfect but perfect!!

Nothing warms a photographers heart more than to watch a family grow and being asked to capture them again.

I love this family!!

The kids are growing so.  It’s hard to believe another year has gone by.

It is not always easy to get a family with little ones to all sit in the same spot and look my way.

Mom was hoping for just one good family shot.

I think we may have captured it.

But along with the perfect ones, there are images like this…

I think sister pinched brother and he didn’t like it.

I, of course, think this is the cutest shot!!!

Life with kids.

Pie*ography Thursday

These weeks just fly by.

It is once again Pie*ography Thursday over at Na-Da Farm.

Join in the fun.

Anne Marie will be doing this every Thursday so bake your pie, tell your story and link to her blog.

This weeks featured pie is Low Country Sweet Potato Pie from Vanessa Brantley Newton.

march7

Vanessa describes her pie and life as “rustic, buttery, sweet, fluffy…” and is she ever right.

Not only was this a photographers dream to shoot, with the roughness of the cast iron skillet set against the delicate linen and tableware, but it was also a dream to eat.  I loved this pie!!

Anne Marie took the words from Vanessa’s pie0graphy and styled the shoot perfectly.

Pie*ography is such a beautiful book.  The stories, photographs, and recipes all lend themselves to a book that is quite a treasure.

Sea Salt Brownies

I love the combination of sweet and salty.

Who doesn’t?

And when the sweet part is chocolate….well need I say more.

brownies1

I came upon this recipe on Pinterest {of course} and had to give it a try.

I cut back on the amount of unsweetened cocoa and substituted Cup 4 Cup gluten free flour.

YUM!!

If I hadn’t given up chocolate for lent, I would be whipping up another batch right now.

So I will live through you gals.  Go ahead and try this and let me know what you think.
